State of New Mexico, Greenhouse gas baseline for CCX Membership

YRG consultants assisted the State of New Mexico in becoming the first state government in the U.S. to join the Chicago Climate Exchange (CCX). YRG consultants led the effort to develop a greenhouse gas emissions baseline and subsequent annual inventories in accordance with policies set forth by the World Resources Institute / World Business Council on Sustainable Development (WRI/WBCSD) Greenhouse Gas Protocol and the rules of membership of the CCX. In the process, YRG consultants provided an analysis of energy consumption trends by fuel and end use to inform future emissions reduction strategies.

State of Maryland, Climate Change Action Plan

YRG consultants evaluated a number of greenhouse gas reduction strategies and developed a Climate Change Action Plan for the State of Maryland. As part of this process, YRG consultants evaluated a diverse array of emissions reduction strategies that could be implemented at the state level, including a renewable portfolio standard, tighter building codes, incentives to promote lower carbon intensive electricity production, and incentives to promote efficient appliance and end use technologies.

EPA Climate Leaders Program, Technical Support

YRG consultants provided technical assistance to private sector companies in developing greenhouse gas emissions baselines and annual emissions inventories as part of the EPA's voluntary Climate Leaders Program. All baselines and inventories were performed in accordance with the WRI/WBCSD Greenhouse Gas Protocol.
